With reference to your despatch No.243 of

15th August, 1927, and my telegram of 27th September, of

which 1 enclose a copy, I have the honour to request

(a) that, in addition to recognition as from

1st January, 1928, by the Board of Trade of

Hong Kong foreign-going passenger certificates,

immediate recognition be obtained for the Hong

Kong Dry Docking Certificate; and

(b) that the recognition of Hong Kong load-

line certificates for ships on the Hong Kong Register, granted by Urder-in-Council dated 29th January, 1923, may be extended to ships

not on the Hong Kong Register.

2. I also request that when recognition has

been obtained from the Board of Trade for

(a) Hong Kong Dry Docking Certificates, (b) Hong Kong Load Line Certificates,

(c) Hong Kong Foreign-going Passenger

Certificates,

necessary action may be taken as speedily as possible

to ensure similar recognition by
